Anne Frank looked at the world differently

About the Sapling Project Virtual Tree

Anne Frank drew solace and inspiration from looking out the attic window at the chestnut tree growing behind the Secret Annex. Share your voice alongside Anne’s by leaving a leaf here on the Sapling Project Virtual Tree.

I find that my "chestnut tree" is my friends and art. Although I'm going through difficult times currently, I have my close friends and family to give me support and love. I'm able to draw out my feelings, rather than just let them sit inside me an so hurt me. Anne is strong, kind, and full of ambition. I strive to have the same optimism and strength she had.

Anne's chestnut tree shows that even in difficult times there's always some hope and beauty somewhere in the world. Even when Anne was having the worst time in the Annex, she was able to look at the tree and feel strength and hope. I connect to this, because Anne shows us that there is always something to inspire you to keep going in difficult times

This is how I connect with Anne. When I was having a hard time and not feeling well I would try and find things to cheer me up and make be happy. For example I would watch videos on YouTube of Ariana Grande and Fifth Harmony because they would make me smile and laugh because they mean so much to me and inspire me. I know it may sound silly but its true.

I believe if I am having a rough day and I look outside at a beautiful pasture or a huge tree in my front yard it comforts me to see something so beautiful.
